Watering Schedule
_______________________________________________________________
Proper watering will get your plants off
to the right start in your new landscape!
Trees:
· Water
the first time by letting a hose slowly trickle around the base of the tree for
about an hour. This helps eliminate the air pockets
surrounding the root ball.
· Water
once a day for the first week and then a couple times a week thereafter through
the season. Trees planted in heavy soils
should be checked to avoid over watering.
Spraying the leaves in the evening is beneficial in hot weather.
Shrubs
and Perennials:
· Water
once a day for the first week and then a couple times a week thereafter through
the season. Shrubs and perennials will
also wilt when they are dry, so keep an eye on them!
*** Tip***
If it has been wet and rainy, water less; If it has been dry and hot, water more often.
